Nomination Form for Delegates/Officers





Offices available for nomination:


Requires 20 signatures of members in good standing.


Second Vice-President (Full-time release position, 3-year term)



Section 3: In order to hold office, a member mustbe in good standing for at least one year prior to the election. Beginning with the spring 2018 election: To qualify as a candidate, a member must have attended at least 2 general membership meetings within the calendar year before the election and two Executive Board meetings. To qualify as a paid, full- time release officer, a candidate must have also attended at least 4 Executive Board meetings and 4 general membership meetings within a calendar year, or have served on the Executive Board within the past 6 years. Serving as a delegate and fulfilling all your responsibilities to the NEA Representative Assembly, AFT Convention, or FEA Delegate Assembly within a calendar can replace attendance at one 1 General Membership Meeting for the purpose of qualifying to hold office; serving as a delegate for multiple conventions cannot be used to replace more than 1 General Membership meeting.


Terms for officers and delegates shall be from June 1 to May 31, or in the case of appointment by the Executive Board, from the date of appointment to May 31.


Convention Delegates to be elected:


Requires 10 signatures of members in good standing.


Delegate to Florida Education Association Delegate Assembly (October 13-15)

Delegate to the National Education Association Representative Assembly in Chicago (July 2-6)*

Delegate to the American Federation of Teachers Convention in Boston (July 13-17)*


Section 1: Convention delegates shall be nominated and elected annually.

Section 2: In order to be a convention delegate a member must be in good standing


Delegate Responsibilities

1. Be prepared to attend and represent BFT.

2. For in person conventions, BFT will reimburse expenses up $60 per day upon submission of itemized receipts.

3. At the event

a. Attend all of the main venues.


* Qualified expenses (hotel, airfare, registration, food, etc.) for the five candidates with the

most votes will be paid. Candidates up to the designated delegate allocation may still attend at their own

expense. If a member of the FEA Executive Cabinet is a top 5 candidate, we will pay for the 6th ranking

candidate’s expenses, as the FEA Executive Cabinet expense’s will be paid by FEA.
